HIS IMPERIAL MAJESTY THE OONI OF IFE BECOMES THE GRAND PATRON OF NAFCA USA




His Imperial Majesty Kabiyesi Alaiyeluwa Oba Okunade Sijuwade Olubuse II The Ooni of Ife becomes the Grand Patron of NAFCA USA
His Imperial Majesty Kabiyesi Alaiyeluwa Oba Okunade Sijuwade Olubuse II The Ooni of Ife yesterday accepted to become the Grand Patron of the African NAFCA.

The African NAFCA USA sent a formal letter through Kabiyesi Royal Majesty Oba Kole Ojutalayo who attended the 4th African NAFCA at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills on behalf of His Imperial Majesty the Ooni of Ife who was honoured with the first ever Special NAFCA Legend Award. The 18 Karat gold plated NAFCA trophy was delivered to the Oduduwa Palace, Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria yesterday and Dr. Victor O. Olatoye the President and CEO of the African NAFCA said our father is happy and has given us his blessing.


Over 500 Hollywood celebrities came to celebrate the strides being made in Nollywood, the second-biggest film-producer in the world after India. The African NAFCA Awards Show was a true “star-studded gala as the Hollywood legends came out to support the prestigious Film and Honorary Awards. On the 13th of September at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills the African NAFCA honored thespians among the best in the field of entertainment. The Award show provides a rewarding platform for thespians to express their craft and share their contributions with an audience of their peers, celebrate the community, individuals who crave a creative avenue in cinema, music and music in cinema.”
In attendance were dignitaries including; Royal Majesty Kabiyesi Oba Kole Ojutalayo representing His Imperial Majesty Kabiyesi Alaiyeluwa Oba Okunade Sijuwade Olubuse II The Ooni of Ife, whose segment of the program was dedicated to. Honorable Ama Tutu Muna Cameroon Minister of Arts & Culture who received a Special NAFCA Image award in 2013 came down from Cameroon to offer support to the prestigious award. Commenting on the award, Minister Muna says that all African countries should back up the award financially, because the African NAFCA is promoting the rich African culture and heritage to the world. It would be unpatriotic not to support this prestigious award, she concluded. Ben Bruce (CEO of Silverbird Group) says this is the first time Nollywood and Hollywood is brought together and that is historic. Special NAFCA Patriot award recipient Governor Yvon Alteon of Haiti said Haiti is committed to working with NAFCA. Hollywood fine Artist Davood Roostaei in his effort to help the award grow, he donated a painting titled "Leaders of the World" appraised for three million dollars to the African NAFCA. Hollywood legends including Louis Gossett Jr., Glynn Thurman, Keith David, actor Blair Underwood, over 500 Hollywood actors and filmmakers were in attendance. Nollywood stars Majid Michel, Omoni Oboli, Juliet Ibrahim, Jeta Amata, Charles Okorocha, Anita Josephs and Chijioke Nnaji came to show support to this important and historic event. Nollywood USA/UK’s Chisom Oz Lee, Ken Smart, Clara Folashade Fernaldo, Kelechi Eke, Robert Peters, Soleil Diva, Papa Gee, Chima Austin, Bridget John were among stars at the prestigious award at the historic Saban Theatre of Beverly Hills.
This year’s award was hosted by Jackie Christie of Basketball Wives of LA, NAFCA award winning Michael Adegoke, Hollywood actor Lester Speight and Kalitta Smith. The Nollywood & African Film Critics’ Awards are U.S. awards for achievements in the film industry and the NAFCA Special Honors are awarded to recognize outstanding individuals whose professional careers have been marked by extraordinary personal and professional accomplishments.

The African NAFCA is designed to globally promote African arts and culture through films.
